The concept of hiding the rules from the players is one I am very unsure of. I find great enjoyment, as a player, in seeing all the rules and the ways in which the imaginary world works, and as an arbiter I find holding all the rules to myself can be a lot to track. Well, the idea of hiding the rules came to Sandy Eisen nearly 50 years ago… I had the same idea but then I developed it in a different way (let me add: hiding the set of rules can or cannot be a good idea according to the tastes of GM and players!). The model I adopted is an RPG where some character's features are hidden to player so that he doesn’t know all the info about his charater… I recently re-posted the concept in the post about the KUP model if you’re interested in!
