Summer break (or rest?)
A few days ago, I had a really important lesson that I've been thinking about a lot. And I'm not talking about something related to the world of RPGs. This lesson is much broader and touches each of us in a really deep way.
It's all about the difference between resting and taking a break or ‘disconnecting’. While the latter is also much more used in everyday speech and makes us feel like what we do is really important, the former is the real goal to aim for. Rest is something we can all obtain when we find a way to reconcile what we want with what we achieve, while a break is a lovely, simple interruption of what we do. Rest is when you've reached a point of peace with your mind and body because you've achieved your goal and there's nothing more you can do but be pleased of your actions. It's a wonderful feeling to be able to stop and enjoy your achievements! The break doesn't have this power because it's a gesture that interrupts an activity without giving any sense of satisfaction or the possibility of thinking about what we've achieved. It's a sort of 'time-out' to catch our breath, but it leaves us feeling a bit empty.
I know I’ve been away a lot recently, but I’ve never taken a break from my project. I’m working hard to be able to rest, which for me means being in a position to have completed a goal! I just wanted to send you all a little reminder that the summer break is just around the corner. I'm not going to post during this period, but I just want to wish you all the best of luck in finding the perfect state of rest. I know that stopping for the summer break would be too little, so I hope you can find a way to relax and recharge your batteries! I wish you all the best of luck in finding yourselves satisfied after the first half of the year and, in this way, having a well-deserved rest! We will meet again in September with some good news (fingers crossed!), so until then, stay happy and healthy!
