This update to let you know that the playtest is running smoothly. Only few details have been outlined and they have been already amended in the Errata. The game mechanics are as fluent as I expected even thought I have to admit that a big part of this positive outcome is strictly dependent on the expertise of the GM! Without a good game mastery the game would not be such a great thing… it’s fair to admit that any RPG would be affected in this way.
By the end of the month another playtest group should start and I am eager to hear what are the outcomes over there!
I am now in doubt how to handle the rule I made up after the publication of the game… I am referring to the Morality points which can be spent in game effects: just to recap this idea, a player can decide to spend any Morality Index point above zero of his PC to get an in-game effect. The GM is then asked to shape the event in line with the amount of points spent. Since in this game the concept of saving throws is not present, I thought this rule should be a nice add-on: it’s like when in a movie there is a twist, this supports the PC who has used the points. I can figure out a situation like an Indiana Jones movie where the character is cornered by his enemies and with a Morality point spent to get out of it, the events turn in a positive way like it happens to any hero in a movie.
The question is that this is not actually an amendment of the game, this is a mere add-on. Should this be included in the errata? Sticking to the purpose of an errata corrige, this rule should not be part of it… however I am still thinking to add the rule in there!
Re to the quickstart rules, I am really close to the completion: I need to complete the last three paragraphs and add the images of BoraNera, the overall layout is already done! Have a glance at a sample page here below:
The good piece of news is that two fellows offered their hand for the proofreading job of the quickstart book: Doug and Seany! Like for the previous book, the Acaeum community resulted the best in this sense: both of them replied to my request from those boards!
I have really to hurry up and complete the book now!
